Saffron Restaurant & Lounge
Accessibility
We want every guest to be able to read our menu and book a table, whatever they are using to do it. This page is about our website, and it says plainly where we stand, including the places we are not there yet.
Website last reviewed . Measured against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
This website
Our website aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard most widely used to judge whether a website is accessible. It was independently reviewed in August 2026, and the home, about and events pages conform to that standard for the pages and states tested.
What that means in practice:
- Every link, button and control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and you can always see which one you are on.
- Every image carries a text description for screen readers.
- Pages use real headings and landmarks, so you can jump around rather than read start to finish.
- Text and background colours meet the contrast the standard asks for.
- The site works at 200 percent zoom and on a 320 pixel wide screen without content being cut off or needing sideways scrolling.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, our animations stop. There is also a Pause Motion button on the home page.
Where we are not there yet
We would rather tell you about the gaps than let you find them.
- Online booking is run by OpenTable. The booking panel is OpenTable's own software loaded into our page, so we cannot change how it behaves for screen readers or keyboards. If it gets in your way, call us on (442) 268-5558 or email info@saffronps.com and we will book your table. Booking that way is never a lesser option and we will not ask you to explain why.
- We have not finished screen reader testing. We have checked what a screen reader is given: every control and image has a name, headings and landmarks are labelled, and Persian words are marked so they are read in a Persian voice. What we have not done is sit with a real screen reader and listen to the whole site, so we cannot promise it reads well, only that the pieces are labelled. If you use one and something reads wrongly, please tell us and we will fix it.
Visiting the restaurant
This page covers our website. For access to the building itself, including step free entry and the layout of the dining room and restrooms, see the questions guests ask on our About page.
If you have an access need that is not answered there, please call us on (442) 268-5558 before you come. We would rather answer the question than have you arrive and find out.
Tell us if something is in your way
If any part of this website or the restaurant is difficult to use, we want to hear about it, and you do not need to know the right words for it. Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened.
